Hair loss a major concern for women


Avedahas carried out a nationwide survey of 2000 women aged between 20 - 50 years tofind out their attitudes to hair thinning and loss, in support of its brandInvati.
Resultsof the Invati Nationwide Hair Survey include:
• 29% of women in the UK have sufferedfrom hair loss or thinning
• 53% of women are concerned about hairthinning
• When thinking about the causes ofhair loss 81% of British women believe it is due to emotional stress, 58% thinkphysical exercise is the culprit, 73% blame it on hormones and 37% see it as aresult of changes in diet
• 21% of women rank hair loss andthinning as the subject they find most sensitive to talk about
• When suffering from hair thinning orloss; 68% of women would go to their doctor for advice and 1 in 5 would seekhelp from their hairdresser. Only 7% of women would consult their friend
• 16% of women say their partner, 18%believe their family and 30% vote their friends as the people they would feelembarrassed discussing hair loss or thinning with
• To hide the appearance of hair lossor thinning, 20% of women would wear a wig, 30% would wear a hat and 70% wouldfind a hairstyle to disguise it. Only 4% of women would have a hair transplant
