Hair image of the week: aveda's ethereal styling

I adore this image from Aveda's Girl Power collection. From the sepia-effect to the simple styling, it's eyecatching and beautiful. I love the way the hair falls over her face - it's not perfect - making her look vulnerable and doll-like.

To simulate the netting women wore on their hats in the 30s, Antoinette used a weft to create a veil of hair that she pinned to the front of the models own hair. To get the look she wanted, she set the weft in a figure-eight pattern and flat ironed it before brushing the hair out.
