Hair image of the week: 20s-inspired finger waves

No hairdresser can call themselves a fully fledged stylist if they don't learn the old techniques. While finger waves, Marcel waves and pin curls might not be in everyday demand by clients, a hairdresser should be able to turn their hand to everything. In fact, finger waves are one of the looks that will be gracing the runways at the autumn/winter 2010 shows. So this image from e salon, Australia, is my image of the week. The model looks like she has stepped straight out of a flapper party, with her simple make-up and glossy waves which cradles her head like a hat. And with a sepia-like wash it could be a picture of someone's grandmother in a family album.
