At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Hair Council, the position of Chair was secured by Mr Bill Shaw. Bill has been on the Council for a number of years and has been working towards mandatory registration in the UK throughout this time.
Bill was founder of Yorkshire salon chain Dimensions. He opened his first salon in Barnsley in 1973 which he still operates with his daughter Tina today.
Said Bill: "Working as part of a committee in an association like the Hair Council is massively different to what we all do day to day in our own businesses and our 'day jobs.'  I know this only too well after 25 years during which time I've been involved with the National Hairdressers’ Federation, The Guild, HABIA and the Hair Council."
