Haider ackermann spring/summer 2015: get the hair look Haider Ackermann Spring/Summer 2015: Get the Hair Look Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman created icy white choir-boy crops for the Haider Ackermann Spring/Summer 2015 show. The show: Haider Ackermann Spring/Summer 2015 The hair team: Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman for Wella Professionals The look: Deliberately badly-cut choir-boy cuts in icy white shades. The inspiration: Pure naivety; the innocence of a choir-boy cut with the severity of a glacial blonde colour and badly-cut finish. "This look is something beautiful and elegant, but in an unusual way that you wouldn’t expect," says Eugene. "We used icy, white blonde colour but you can still see the model's natural hairline displayed underneath, almost like an undercut, so there's a contrast between something natural and something strange. There are different layers to the style which really make you stare." "The idea behind the colour is that it lifts and illuminates each model," adds Josh. "The desaturated blonde created for the wigs complemented Haider Ackermann's, collection which is muted and tonal. This look takes the concept of minimal to a whole new level where the severity of the cut is further accentuated by the depigmentation of the colour." The key product: Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray Get the Look Colour Preparation 1. The starting level of the wig determines whether you use Blondor power, cream or Freelights to lift the colour. 2. Some of the wigs had already been highlighted, so colour was desaturated using a foil technique to even out the base colour. On other wigs a global application is used. 3. The majority of the wigs were toned with 10/69 with 6% to neutralise the color. 4. To finish, wigs were washed and conditioned using Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo and Conditioner. Hair Preparation 1. Section the hair into circular thirds, tying the center third (at the crown) into a tight ponytail and clip to one side. 2. Prepare the hair for the wig by wrapping the middle section tightly around the head, using Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray to keep it in place. Repeat with the top section so the hair forms a skull cap, reducing the bulk of the hair. 3. Take the bottom third and spray liberally with hairspray. Pull it tightly over the rest of the hair into a high ponytail and fold the ends so that it lies flat to the head and fix into place. Wig Preparation 1. Attach the wigs to the models' hair using double sided tape. 2. Each cut is specific to the models’ bone structure and face shape. The look should appear as though it's been cut badly - thin and layer some sections and blunt cut others. 3. Place a hairnet over the wig and spray with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray before blow-drying to squash the hair onto the head. 4. Leave the hair to set for 30 minutes then remove the hair net. 5. Take small sections of hair and apply Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray to the ends. Rub the hair between your fingers to create texture and, while the hairspray is still wet, fix pieces to the sides so that the hairline is visible in places.
