Habb launches its first scottish women in business event HABB Women's BreakfastHairdressers throughout Scotland arrived at the new luxurious Enzo Bar Restaurant in Edinburgh on Monday 3 November for a charity breakfast networking event - ‘Scottish Women in Business’ supported by ghd. Hairdressing and beauty are such exciting, invigorating and youthful industries that the thought of illness, disability or needing help rarely cross our minds. Thanks to HABB (The Hair and Beauty Benevolent), the industry has had an independent charity dedicated solely to helping fellow professionals in the hair and beauty industry if they find themselves facing challenging times. Ghd is one of the main supporters of the HABB charity and they invited Scottish hair salons and businesses to their first breakfast meet up in Edinburgh, where a top hairdressing panel discussed their ever- growing salon businesses and the challenges they face. The panel featured five of the greatest women in the Scottish hairdressing industry: Jennifer Cheyne of Cheynes Hairdressing, Kay McIntyre of McIntyres Hairdressing, India Miller of Charlie Miller Hairdressing, Linda Stewart of Rainbow Room International and Charlie Taylor of Charlie Taylor Hair & Beauty – the leading hairdressing industry names took to the floor and had a ‘question and answer’ hour with an audience of 50 Scottish hairdressers and joint President of HABB; Jayne Lewis-Orr. Having leading names within the industry offer their opinions on building a successful hairdressing business gave local hair salons the chance to build their businesses up just like the inspiring women on the panel. With an excellent turn out, just under £2,000 was raised for the HABB charity.
