Great news! your clients are seriously ready for a noughties-style chop... With months of hair growth in lockdown it's no surprise that one of the biggest trends emerging for summer 2020 is the return of 'the cut'. We aren't talking a simple trim, we are talking a defined shape and style, that can only be coiffed by industry pros. Jonathan Turner from Hooker & Young has noticed that even clients that haven't gotten to their dream length during lockdown are still booking in. "There’s a real divide between the clients here at Hooker & Young and what style they are wanting when they are back in the salon chair," he says. "Of course, there are clients who are desperate to get back to their sharp bobs and defined cuts, but we’re hearing that for quite a lot of clients lockdown been the perfect opportunity to grow out their styles." https://www.instagram.com/p/B9cMXALAEqZ/ Dale Hollinshead, owner of Hazel & Haydn agrees that the cut is making a comeback, “I would have to agree that there’s a rise in demand for ‘the cut’. We have had many appointments booked by our clients who have said their hair has grown so much and they want to try something new, after having so long to reflect and think about themselves." Dale also puts this down to the time clients have had watching 1990s and 2000s re-runs while we are mostly at home. "With many watching re-runs of old TV shows like Friends I won't be surprised by the rise in Jen-An cuts - we have been seeing this style and colour becoming more popular.” For more cut, colour and style inspiration head to our gallery and our Pinterest page Lead image via Shutterstock
