After the inaugural event last year, the Cantu Curl Awards are back for 2020. The competition launched last year to celebrate the creative talent of hair enthusiasts and
hairstylists throughout the UK.
Finalists at the Cantu Curl Awards compete online by completing a series of hair challenges, tasked with creating a hairstyle on afro hair based on a chosen theme. Contestants then go head-to-head creating short video content displaying their hair creations for the Cantu community.
Last year, hairstylist Tolu Agoro (
@luscurls)was crowned our very first Cantu Curl Awards winner at a swanky event hosted by comedian Judi Love. As a part of Tolu's prize she was awarded a grand prize of £5000 and a year-long ambassador role with Cantu UK.
“Independent stylists have been hit hard in recent months," says Precilia Zongo, assistant brand manager for Cantu, "so now more than ever Cantu is committed to supporting hairstyling enthusiasts and hairdressing talent who we truly value.”
