The ghd Aura was put through its paces this week as 100 young hairdressers participated in an 'Aura Uncovered' pop-up photoshoot in London.
And, in keeping with the innovative design of ghd's breakthrough new dryer, the venue for the shoot was 47/49 Tanner Street - home of
Dragon's Den and birthplace to some of the best of British creativity.
Inventiveness was the name of the game for hairdressers on the day too, with each stylist tasked with the challenge of creating a look on their own model using just the Aura they were given - no other tools allowed.
On hand to help out and inspire were ghd education ambassador Ken Picton, head of creative Andreas Stavrou and creative director Zoe Irwin, as well as the ghd artistic team. Live DJ sets from Zara Martin and Whinnie Williams, a free-flowing bar and street food snacks all added to the eclectic, enthusiastic mood of the mass shoot.

Welcoming guests to the space, Ken said: "ghd Aura is an extraordinary tool. It’s a hairdryer – but not as we know it. It will definitely challenge the way we think and change the way we style. It's all about styling with air not just hairdrying – and that’s what makes it different."
Finished styles ranged from big-and-bouncy polished blow-dries to braided updos, with each look captured for posterity at the end of the day by a ghd photographer.
Participants were also encouraged to take and share their own shots on Instagram and Twitter, with the winner of the image that best captured the mood of the day - Crystal Stanley from Urban Retreat - rewarded with the chance to join Ken on a photoshoot.

HJ gave away ten places on the course and one of the winners was Nicola Evans from Walnut Salon in Halsall, Liverpool. She said: "A fab day – so different and exciting. I've had a brilliant time, met some great people, but most of all learned how to think about blow-drying in a different way. Inspiring! Our clients are OBSESSED with their blow-dries and I can’t wait to show them how they just got even better!"
