Getting the look right is vital for the front row voyeurs
Attending a runway collection at any Fashion Week is as important, if not more so, than treading the red carpet at an awards ceremony. To be invited to sit on the front row not only elevates the celebrity to a new status as style icon, but choosing the right outfit can make or break their reputation as a true fashionista.
New York Fashion Week has seen A-listers mingle with new up-and-coming stars, all vying for the soptlight. The doyenne of fashion, Anna Wintour, is always a fixture while this year has so far seen a svelte platinium blonde Kelly Osbourne, a brunette Pixie Geldof and of course blogging sensation Tavi Gevinson, sporting a granny-chic look and unforgiving grey hair at Alexander Wang. Pretty fabrics have been rocked up with leather by Alice Dellal and Pixie Geldof at Alexander Wang, while high shoes are still the heel of choice for Molly Sims, Shenae Grimes and Sophia Bush at Diane von Furstenberg. Hair-wise, soft, touchable waves and curls have replaced poker straight tresses, with a more natural look than 2009.
