Learn how to copy this dramatic style from the
VT Academy Northern Lights Collection in our easy to follow twisted updo tutorial.
You will need: hair nets, hair grips, sectioning clips, hair elastics

Step one: Take a vertical parting from the front of the head to the highest point of the crown.

Step two: Section off a diagonal parting across the occipital area.

Step three: Secure hair on either side of the diagonal parting into two high ponytails. Bring the remaining hair from the front section across from either side and secure in a ponytail.

Step four: Backbrush each of the ponytails, spraying with hairspray as you work to create a malleable texture that will be easier to shape.

Step five: Secure a pin through a hairnet and anchor it at the base of one of your ponytails.

Step six: Bring all of the hair on that ponytail inside of the hairnet.

Step seven: Repeat on all of the ponytails, so you have three sections of hair, all secured inside an individual hairnet.

Step eight: Start to shape the right ponytail section into a roll, securing at the base with pins.

Step nine: Continue to shape until you're happy with the finished look, pinning in place.

Step ten: Start working on the second ponytail on the left. Repeat the shape of the first ponytail, wrapping around and pinning in place.

Step eleven: Repeat on the third and final centre section.

Step twelve: Check the balance of the overall look, pinning in place until you're happy.

The finished look.
