If you've been enchanted by Lily James in her latest fairytale role, you'll love our Cinderella hair tutorial.
Forget the Sandy Powell dress - and that waistline - we can't get enough of Lily's blonde curls, which are worthy of any fantasy heroine. We asked the I.C.O.N. team to help us recreate the fairytale look.
You will need…
• A narrow conical wand
• A finishing spray, like I.C.O.N. Done
• A hold spray, like I.C.O.N. Reform
• A smoothing product, like I.C.O.N. Allow
• A paddle brush
• A dressing brush
• Curl pins
• Bobby pins
1. Brush hair through with a paddle brush. Create a centre parting.
2. Take horizontal sections of hair starting at the crown. Spritz with I.C.O.N. Reform then wrap around the barrel of the wand. Hold for a few seconds then release. Wind up the curl and clip it close to the head to cool.
3. Repeat with additional horizontal sections moving down to the nape.
4. Move to a side section. Take two or three sections close to the face and curls these vertically rather than horizontally for a softer ringlet.
5. Curl and clip the rest of the side using horizontal sections.
6. Repeat this process of three vertical sections, then horizontal sections on the second side.
7. All the hair should now be curled and pinned up. Leave to cool.
8. Take out all of the pins and allow the curls to fall. Run your fingers through to release. Don’t use a brush – this will take out too much curl definition.
9. Lift sections at the crown and backcomb down to the roots – just a few inches, you don’t want to brush a curl. Lift this backcombed section out of the way for now.
10. Move to one side and take a small section from the front. Tame the surface with a dressing brush then pull back and pin above the ear.
Take another small section, this time at the front-side. Tame the surface then pull back and pin at the centre back.
11. Repeat on the second side then pull down the backcombed hair to cover the pins. Gently tame the surface with a dressing brush.
12. Take a little I.C.O.N. Allow in the palm of your hands and gently work through the lengths to add shine. Finish with a spritz of I.C.O.N. Done to hold.
13. For a subtle sparkly touch add Great Lengths Diamond Threads to hair. Our model had six strands applied in Light Pink. A braided hair-piece can be added over the head and pinned behind the ears for a more dramatic finish.
