The genius designer, who currently holds the reins at Dior, was in London to judge the Fashion Fringe - a sort of X Factor for up-and-coming fashion talent.
Last night, I was lucky enough to have a front row seat (alongside the mighty Trevor Sorbie MBE) to watch the three finalists - Alice Palmer, Jade Kang, and Corrie Nielsen - send their collections down the catwalk, as part of London Fashion Week. It was a fabulous show and all three were worthy choices. Show over, we headed to the bar to hear Mr Galliano announce who'd won... and enjoy a few cocktails.
Corrie Nielsen wouldn't have been my first choice, but her collection (which had more than a hint of early Galliano) was crowned winner. Business over, it was time to party until the early hours. Unfortunately Mr Galliano was soon whisked away in silver Rolls Royce, but not before I'd got up close and personal and admired his perfect fishtail plait. What with this and his fingerwaves from earlier in the year, Galliano's hair is becoming one of the most exciting things about his collections!
