The third HABB Day saw the charity embrace mobile technology, by asking everyone involved in the industry to donate via text. HABB offers a big thank you to those who took the time to text on HABB Day.
Says Lynn Hickey: "We also saw a number of salons having a bit of fun on the day and helping to raise much needed funds."
Here are a few examples of some of the fun and games hairdressers had in aid of HABB.
- Sharon Malcolm Hairdressing in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, ran a part marathon and raised an impressive £800 from her team and customers
- Staff from Lynn's own group, seanhanna, dressed up for the day across all seven salons and raised £1,000
- Jo Hansford in London had a dress down day and collected £80 from the team
Regis International had a head office retail sale and raised £142 Hair 4 U in Chorley, Lancashire, dressed up in school uniforms for the day and raised £173
- The Retreat in Wokingham, Surrey, all wore silly hair and hats for the day and raised £116
- Staff at Wella Professionals had a cake sale to raise £127.
