Francesco Hair Salon believes that great marketing goes beyond the salon chair – it’s about making real connections, thinking outside the box and supporting causes that align with your brand’s values. That’s why the salon was thrilled to be part of The Big Swim at Sandbanks on International Women’s Day, a bold and inspiring event that brought together 1,000 women across Brighton and Sandbanks to brave the icy waters in celebration of strength and solidarity.

For Francesco Hair Salon, taking part in the event wasn’t just about brand awareness; it was about championing empowerment, supporting women-led initiatives and making a real impact beyond traditional marketing.

Co-founder of The Big Swim, Nicky Chisholm, captured the spirit of the day perfectly, sharing: "We did it! 1,000 women across Brighton and Sandbanks braved the waves to celebrate International Women’s Day! A truly joyous, moving experience. Massive thanks to everyone who came to dance on the beach and make a splash."

Understanding that saltwater and sea breezes can be tough on hair, Francesco Hair Salon brought the salon experience to the beach; swimmers were treated to gentle detangling, expert haircare advice and a complimentary full-size Wella Professional Suncare product to keep their locks nourished post-swim. All swimmers were also entered into a prize draw for a £100 Francesco Hair Salon Gift Voucher – offering them a moment of indulgence after their daring dip.

The Big Swim is about more than just one event – it’s about creating ripples of change. Organisers Rosie and Nicky encouraged participants to support a woman-led campaign or business, reinforcing the idea that actions taken on IWD can create lasting impact.
