The annual Trainee of the Year competition allows Francesco Group’s highest achieving apprentices to be recognised and rewarded for the work they do. The competition is open to all apprentices across the group and they can either nominate themselves with a portfolio of their work or their salon owner or educator can nominate them. The award comes in the form of a cash prize, which differentiates Francesco Group’s Apprenticeship programme from other programmes in the industry.
To get into the final, second and third years had to create a colour, cut and finish and first years had to create a finish. All finalists had to present a mood board and a final look to educators, salon owners and friends. The judging was done throughout the day, with the winners being announced in the evening. The winners will now be put through for the Apprentice of the Year at the annual Francesco Group Awards, which take place in the summer.
Director of Hairdressing, Anya Dellicompagni, commented,
“The standard of work from our apprentices is absolutely incredible, and to see their passion and creative vision take the lead is very exciting for us to witness. Each apprentice shows dedication to their craft and is a pleasure to watch.”
