Four trends, three hair shows and two winners at wella trend vision 09
After three highly competitive rounds, the winners of this year's Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award have been chosen.
The winners, who were named at the UK Final at the Roundhouse, in Camden, London, were:
- Angelo Vallillo from Zullo and Holland, Nottingham, as Young Talent Category winner
- Lindsay Grossman from hob salons, London, as winner of the Color Category.
The pair will now represent the country at the International Final in Berlin next month.
The Trend Vision finalists from all four regions had spent the day at the Wella World Academy in London, where they recreated their winning look from the regional heats in front of a prestigious panel of judges, including Annie Humphreys, Ken Picton, Robert Eaton, Josh Wood and Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck.
Then, it was onto the Roundhouse for the announcement of the winners, special hair shows and a set from rock band and Feeder who blasted out their hits.
Radio 1 presenter Jo Whiley, the host for the night, welcomed everyone. "There is more passion and tears here tonight than an X Factor final!" she said.
After the finalists had paraded the stage, the audience were treated to three hair shows. Firstly, the Sassoon Academy team presented their Le Baiser collection that showcased ten models with stunning geometric cuts and eyecatching colour.
Named after the French word for 'kiss', the collection combined the elegance of Dior haute couture with the fetish fantasy of Bettie Page.
This was followed by a special Blonde Icons show that featured beautiful blondes created by a selection of Master Colour Experts and styled by Simon Bryer from Michael Van Clarke.
The future of British hairdressing was represented by the current F.A.M.E team and past UK winners of the Wella Professionals Trend Vision who put on a show inspired by rock and street culture, to rapturous applause from the audience.
