The Problem: Flaky Scalp
Philip Says: "Flaky scalps can be complicated because it is incorrectly thought that a flaky scalp is a dry scalp, but flaky scalps are usually oily. Therefore, applying oil is not going to help. "Treatments for flaky scalps involve applying a cream direct to the scalp. It's best to use a cream that contains anti-flaking ingredients such as sulphur, salicylic acid and various anti-bacterial ingredients. "It's best to apply the cream to dampened hair, massage it into the scalp with a kneading action, then apply steam or infra-red heat for about 15 minutes. "Following this, hair should be shampooed with a specific anti-flake shampoo and, ideally, finished with an anti-flaking scalp tonic."
