First finalists chosen in ghd spotlight competition

The first five finalists have been chosen in the ghd talent-spotting competition, Spotlight.

The competition invited stylists to upload creative content win the chance to secure a place on the ghd artistic team. 

"We had a phenomenal response to the competition" said Jo Robertson, ghd's head of UK & ROI education. "More than 1,200 entries were uploaded and the judging process took three days to complete as the standard was so high.  The final five showed us real passion and an obvious talent for forecasting and interpreting forthcoming trends."



The talented five will now be invited to take part in an all-expenses paid shoot during which their session styling skills, team performance and final image will be assessed to produce an overall winner - and member of the ghd artistic team.

The ghd Spotlight finalists are:

Ryan Harris - Angels Aberdeen

Billy fry - Strands Fareham

Nicole Meechan - McGarry & Blair Glasgow

Ky'Cut Wilson - Electric London

Dylan Brittan - Rainbow rooms Glasgow


The next round of the competition - ghd Spotlight 2 - will launch on 28 May and the winner will win the chance to assist session stylist and ghd creative director Zoe Irwin on an editorial shoot later this year.
