The Fellowship Project X students are now into their sixth month of inspiring mentor days and recently enjoyed a session with Mark Hayes and his Sassoon colleagues learning all about the importance of the line to modern hairdressing.
The day began with the Sassoon team watching and critiquing the group’s mood-board presentations.
Mark – a former Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year and nominees for
HJ's British Hairdresser of the Year – then gave the students a personal account of his journey with Sassoon whilst demonstrating precision cutting, attention to detail and suitability on his model.
The Sassoon team then demonstrated some cuts and gave an insight into how each look was coloured and finished, in a relaxed and informal session that combined plenty of expert advice with a chance to get up close and personal with their coaches.
Then – after lunch – they all had a chance to recreate the looks on their own models with the Sassoon’s team on hand to give feedback and assist them in developing their techniques.
Jesse Jackson from Russell Eaton said: "No words can describe how inspirational the session at Sassoon Academy was – an absolutely phenomenal day. Mark Hayes is a true legend of the industry!"
