Fellowship members night extravaganza

Wella Professionals World Studio Studios in London hosted the latest Members Night for the Fellowship of British Hairdressing where leading hairdressers showcased their spectacular styles to an expectant audience.

hobteamsm.jpgHosts David Drew and Kai Wan warmed up the evening with Kai promising a high standard of work and speculating that the audience would witness some industry stars of the future for the first time.

An eclectic mix of hairstyles followed, with many heavily influenced by the 80s. hob salons creative team shone with styles inspired by 80s icons such as Annie Lennox, Grace Jones and Toyah Wilcox.

In contrast, KJM took their inspiration from the 40s with their screen-goddess-inspired crimped updos and chic rolls that were complemented with silk dresses and gloves.

The Hair Advice Centre featured a Lady GaGa-inspired hair bow and a smouldering, blonde Bardot style. 

With a break from the catwalk show, Kai introduced hair master Errol Douglas to the stage.

Errol revealed that he had first showcased his work at a Fellowship show and gave advice to budding top stylists.

"You have to create your own destiny and work hard, I don't believe in luck!

mohawk.jpg"I grew up in the East End of London and had to fight to get out of there and make a name for myself," he said.

Kai also asked about Errol's MBE."I was so shocked and proud to get it. It feels like the MBE sets me apart from some of the competition," said Errol. 

The audience were treated to more catwalk treats and there was also an appearance with members of the Fellowship F.A.M.E. team, who shared some of their experiences from the year so far.
