Fellowship for british hairdressing hosts men’s first barbering workshop

Fellowship for British Hairdressing has recently hosted their first workshop of the year focusing on men’s hairdressing and barbering skills. The men’s hairdressing market is continuing to grow and, as a result, the demand for skilled and qualified barbers and hairdressers who can work with all hairstyles has increased over the years. As a response to this demand, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing centred their first workshop of 2020 on men’s hairdressing, and invited guests experts that specialise in cutting and styling to mentor for the day. The event took place at the Alan D Academy and was hosted by Jake Unger from HOB Salons and Edward Hemmings. Then, on hand to guide the students through their model looks and training were special guest mentors, Richard Tucker from Ruffians, Ben Madle from Headhunters, Claudio Marini from Alan D and Rino Riccio from Manifesto. Together all the mentors worked closely with the students to create finished looks on assigned models and mannequin heads, and gave guidance on how to achieve the best cutting and finishing techniques. Guest mentor Richard Tucker said, “There was a great energy in the room last night. My three students were a joy to mentor. They showed so much interest in their craft and wanted to learn as much as possible.” He continues, “It was also great to chat with the other mentors and even the photographer about our experiences in the industry and with the Fellowship. Not only did I feel like I was able to help others, but this workshop helped me with my own confidence and teaching skills.”
