Name: Tina Farey
Position/Salon: Editorial director, RUSH Hair
How long have you been working backstage at shows?
Two years.
How did you get into working at fashion week?
L'Oréal Professionnel first gave us the platform as they sponsor London Fashion Week and like to recognise hairdressing talent. We also work on building relationships with designers so they know how we work and can invite us back again.
What's your favourite thing about working at fashion week?
Seeing all the girls lined up and ready to hit the catwalk and seeing the collaboration of fashion and hair, and the pure buzz and energy.
What look do you predict we'll be seeing a lot of?
I think 40s inspired do's will be an emerging trend this season, and the good news is that they can be filtered down into the salon for stylists to speak to clients about.
What's your fashion week kit bag essential?
Every member of the RUSH Session Team is armed with a Mason Pearson brush and I also l always have lots of hairspray to hand.
What shows are you doing this season?
Our shows for this season are still to be confirmed but we have built up a good relationship with Belle Sauvage and have worked on previous collections with them. It would also be an honour to work with Pam Hogg again.
Best advice for surviving fashion week?
Have fun and don't let anyone with a pretentious attitude ruin your LFW experience.
