Fame team finalists selected - next stop salon international

Eight talented hairdressers have been selected to compete for a coveted place in the 2014 Fellowship for British Hairdressing FAME Team. The selection process took place on 15 September at the Wella World Studio, London. Following a challenging  interview process with an expert panel of judges comprising Natalia Maxwell, Faye Turner, Bruno Marc, Sean Dawson, Angelo Vallilo and Nathan Jasztal, the candidates had a two minute slot on stage to prove their hairdressing skills and FAME Team potential. The eight deserving candidates to make it through were; Gavin Macintyre from Hensmans who created a 60’s vibe using various textures and movements, giving a Twiggyesque vibe; Simon Tuckwell from Sutherland And Barnett who  combine soft textures with sharp shapes;  Richard Phillipart from The Boutique Salon And Spa who gathered his inspiration from the recent Gucci collections at London Fashion Week;  Sam Millard from Peter Prosser who wanted to demonstrate ‘misconception’ throughout his looks, showing various styles from different angles; Dafydd Rhys Thomas from Ken Picton who took inspiration from the 2012 topknot trend: Kieran Tudor from D&J Ambrose who took his inspiration from Alexander McQueen Autumn Winter 2013;  Ellenora Dean from Michelle Griffin who described her collection ‘Vunk, as a collaboration of Versace and punk; and  Leighanne Regan from Kyle Beasley who based her collection on Japanese Samurai, including elements she saw on the Just Cavali and Fendi catwalks. All that is left now is for the finalists to present on stage at Salon International on the Fellowship Stand. Salon International takes place at ExCel London from 12 to 14 October.
