Saturday 6 September is World Beard Day - and with beards enjoying more of a presence than ever, we've plucked some fantastic facial hair facts from Barrie Stephen. Highlights from Barrie's beard infographic reveal that men with beards are perceived as wiser than those without and as better father figures. Beards have also been proven to boost self-confidence and, in the Middle Ages, touching another man's beard was considered grounds for a duel - good job those beardy blokes are brimming with confidence. On a negative note, men with big beards are more likely to suffer hair loss and, according to a 2013 study, men with beards are seen as less generous and less cheerful than their clean-shaven counterparts.
