Expert Hair Tips Every Bride Needs this Wedding Season

With wedding season fast approaching, you’re going to be the first point of call for your bride-to-be clients. Which is why, Founder of Spectrum One Hair Extensions, Katy Grimshaw, has put together her top four expert hair tips to ensure you can give those brides their dream hair for their big day.

Pictures over words

“Before booking any appointments, it’s crucial to start with a consultation. By requesting that any bride-to-be brings along multiple inspiration pictures ensures there’s a really clear understanding from the word go what they are looking to achieve,” says Katy.

It’s all in the trial

It goes without saying that a trial is essential. Katy recommends scheduling this four weeks before the big day and also ensures that the make-up trial is on the same day, so you get a better idea of the overall look and vibe.

During the trial it’s important to see the bride’s hair texture in person and test how it will hold in certain styling options throughout the day. “At this stage, it’s a good idea to discuss extensions for any additional length or thickness,” says Katy. “It’s not always about long hair, some of the best up-dos or shorter lengths include extensions.”

Take lots of pictures

“In the trial session, it’s always a good idea to take lots of pictures. We usually recommend that the hairstyle is slightly ‘bigger’ than something the client would usually go for to compensate for how it’ll photograph as hair usually photographs very flat. This can be achieved with hair extensions as well as adding in invisible padding to create the desired effect.”

Prep, prep, prep

When it comes to creating the look on the big day, prepping the hair properly, as well as setting it afterwards is a must!
