Last weekend the HJ Live stage hit the RDS Dublin for HJ Live Ireland, in conjunction with Professional Beauty Ireland.
On the 24
th and 25
th of September the stage was set for an epic couple of days where some of the best stylists Ireland and Northern Ireland has to offer showcased their talents.
Sunday started with the Pro Team from Peter Mark opening the stage with a series of Studio 54 inspired looks with a nod to modern day androgyny incorporated. Not only did all the teams explain how they created the styles to the packed crowd, but also where applicable colourists were also on stage to breakdown the colours mixed to achieve each look.
Julian Dalrymple and Aidan Fitzgerald followed suit on stage. Julian wowed the crowd with intricate ponytails styled with vivid colours and the models treated everyone to a fun dance routine to show off the styles. Aidan Fitzgerald and his team switched things up by talking the crowd through three more editorial looks and then an on trend, highly wearable deep blue bob and cropped ice blond look, which he cut live on stage.
Paul Stafford’s time stage was a contrast of bold, brilliant Afros and short sharp cuts. For CULt’s first presentation on the HJ Live Stage Alan Keville presented a superb glossy bob that he cut to accentuate the model’s features. Andrew Mulvenna then showcased a series of bright, yet grungy, punk rock inspired shapes and styles.
Joanna O’Neill brought Avant Garde to the RDS with her three models sporting delicately ornate coiffed wigs. To juxtapose the extravagant hair, Robert Flannigan brought out the razors and gave the audience an in depth tutorial on how to do a barbershop skinfade. Paul Davey and team then closed the first day with some epic looks, created with an abundance of hair doughnuts and a unique blend of coloured weaves.
For the second day of HJ Live, the Peter Mark Pro Team, CULt and Robert Flannigan took the stage again to present to a completely new audience. They were joined on the line up by; Chris O’Riordan who demonstrated his men’s styling skills and took an abundance of questions from the audience, Darren Lacken and the Crow Street Collective who’s live styling was a crowd pleaser. And to bring the stage to a close we had Marina Hayes and the Confession Box. Her model’s dramatic performance certainly ended things with a bang and Marina used her time to explain what emotions each of her looks were inspired by.
The stage was a huge success and was a great additional to HJ Live Ireland which was buzzing with professionals looking to find the latest products and innovations that some of the biggest industry brands have to offer.
