Sponsored by Decléor Entrants need to supply a written entry covering the following: 500 word opening statement- Explaining what skills and attributes you feel you have to make you an award winner and the skills you have that are needed to be Beauty Therapist of the Year
- Therapy skills
- Training undertaken
- How do you keep yourself up-to-date with the latest techniques, product development and technology
- Description of the client you have chosen to be a case study
- Why this client was selected for the case study
- A short explanation on how you treated the client and why you chose this method
- Aftercare suggested and how this was monitored
- How successful do you feel the results were?
- How successful does the client feel your results were?
- What happened next with this client?
- If possible, please provide feedback from the client in this case study
- Copies of certificates for professional qualifications
- A photograph of the entrant
Body Therapist of the Year
Sponsored by Health & Beauty Salon Entrants need to supply a written entry covering the following: 300 word opening statement Explain why should you be the Body Therapist of the Year Short synopsis of:- Therapy skills
- Training
- How do you keep up-to-date with trends, techniques and product innovations
- Describe the client's problem when she first came to you
- Objectives and aims of the treatment programme prescribed
- Give details of the homecare routine suggested and how it complements the in-salon treatment programme
- How successful was the programme as measured by you, and with client feedback, if possible
- Copies of professional qualifications
- A photograph of the entrant
- Marketing initiatives including in-salon promotions, press coverage etc
Customer Care Awards
Sponsored by OPI Entrants need to supply a written entry covering the following: 500 word opening statement- Explaining how your customer care policy sets you apart from the competition
- Bullet points covering the main aspects of your customer care policy
- A short explanation on how the policy is implemented
- Evidence of how your customer care policy has improved business ie, a graph showing the growth in the numbers of clients and one showing growth of repeat business
- Evidence of how your clients have benefited from your customer care strategy
- Copies of promotional material
Day Spa of the Year
Sponsored by Payot This award recognises Day Spa’s in their truest sense - and entrants to this category are stand alone day spa’s and should offer a minimum of a half day programme, a relaxation area and lunch. Entrants to the Day Spa category can not be linked to a hotel or offer any form of accommodation. The entry should include:- 300 word introduction which outlines the spa's philosophy.
- 300 words on your customer journey/expectation (from reception to departure).
- Highlight two hero treatments and describe them.
- Include a selection of photographs of the spa.
- Include any printed material that markets the spa to existing and new clients - please ensure you include a treatment list/brochure.
Destination/Hotel Spa of the Year
Sponsored by ESPA Entrants may be destination spa or hotel spa based, and must have full spa facilities including hot pools, steam and other heat experiences in addition to relaxation areas, treatment rooms and spa cuisine. Overnight accommodation is essential for entry in this category. The entry should include:- 300 word introduction which outlines the spa’s philosophy
- 300 words on your customer journey/expectation (from reception to departure)
- A list of the spa’s facilities
- Highlight two hero treatments and describe them
- Include example menu(s) of spa cuisine and spa packages
- Include a selection of photographs of the spa (including accommodation)
- Include any printed material that markets the spa to existing and new clients – please ensure you include a treatment list/brochure.
Facial Therapist of the Year
Sponsored by Guinot Your entry should include: 300 word statement- Explaining why your skills set you apart from the competition
- Description of what kind of clients you are attracting and how; how often you see regular clients and how you maintain loyalty
- Indication of how you keep up-to-date and increase product knowledge

- Consultation techniques for homecare and education (given to the client) and how it is monitored

Marketing Award

Nail Professional of the Year
Sponsored by Grafton International Entrants can be from a salon or training school, session or freelance background. Entrants need to supply a written entry covering the following: 500 word opening statement- Detail your career to date, including where you trained, employment history and aims and ambitions for the future – for you personally and/or your business.
- Three images showcasing the creativity of your nail work with background information for each image.
- A minimum of eight photographs to complete a step-by-step of a complete set of nails. The photographs need to be accompanied by a written technical explanation of each step, and the system you have used and why.
- Evidence of how you have developed other people and / or the wider nail industry in the last 12 months (May 2007 to May 2008).
- Examples of how you have promoted yourself and/or your business in the last 12 months (May 2007 to May 2008).

Regional Salon of the Year

Salon Director of the Year
Sponsored by Health & Beauty Salon Passion, drive and determination are just some of the qualities required of the British Beauty & Spa Awards Salon Director of the Year. This person needs to be promoting the beauty and/or spa industry continually in a positive light through every channel available to them - within the salon environment, the local area and in the beauty industry at large. - Any other relevant material
- An evaluation of the effectiveness of the training policy and how the staff and clients have benefited
- A statement from a member of staff who has completed the training programme, giving their feedback
