Empowered femininity at michael van der ham
Backstage at Michael van der Ham's Spring/Summer 2011 show, Claire Dawson led the Wella Professionals Creative Team, creating a modern twist on volume. Hair was given a centre parting and tucked behind the ears, with subtle volume through the crown only visible from the back and profile, complementing Michael van der Ham's delicately feminine palette of pastel hues, and the dual aspect of the collection's signature jig-sawed work of luxury fabrics.
"The reference for the Michael van der Ham show was empowered feminity, which is why we decided to create the dual aspect of the sleek structured profile with delicate volume that originates from underneath the hair," Claire explains. "The look is strong and bold yet feminine." Read on to learn how to get the look:
2 To create volume throw the mid-back area, apply SP Resolute Lift styling lotion to achieve more volume and backcomb the mid-back area to achieve and "anti-head" shape
3 Work a centre parting through the front area, tucking hair behind the ears for a slick and chic appearance
4 Seal ends with SP Satin Polish and finish with a fine mist of SP Perfect Hold hairspray
