The team from Creations Hair and Beauty recently headed to South Africa to undertake vital charity work for the CoCo's Foundation.
Staying in a Christian Missionary, the seven-strong team worked from 4:30am til 8pm for 18 days straight building a home for a child-headed family and undertaking community work.
No vehicles could access the site owing to its remote location and the only water to be found for cement had to be sourced from a crocodile-infested lake!
As well as building a house, the salon team also fed children, painted existing homes and attended lifeskills workshops for abuse victims.
Elliott Courtney, who won his place on the trip with a salon competition, says: "My time in Africa has been both amazing and hard and it is an experience that I will never forget. I have experienced complete and utter crushing poverty and also warmth of total happiness and love. I have been working with a great team of people who I have become good friends with and through them I have made it past hard times. All in all I wouldn't change it for anything."
The team raised £26,000 to undertake this journey of a lifetime, with generous donations from clients and friends.
