TONI&GUY Canary Wharf won Retail Salon of the Year at
HJ's 2014 British Hairdressing Business Awards. The judges called their entry 'clear, concise and impressive' - but what did winning do for their salon? We speak to franchisee Carl McCaffrey to find out.
Why did you enter the British Hairdressing Business Awards?
I entered the British Hairdressing Business awards as I wanted to show my team that I recognise the fabulous job that they are doing for their clients and colleagues. I also wanted to motivate them to keep raising the benchmark. I felt the British Hairdressing Business Awards were the most appropriate awards for us as a team to enter.
What is the value of entering the British Hairdressing Business Awards?
I feel it has definitely motivated the team as a whole and I have noticed that each individual has upped their game even more. The team are more engaged when it comes to salon issues and are really excited for 2015 – we will definitely be entering next year's awards.
How did it feel to win Retail Salon of the Year?
On the evening, it was a really great compliment to my reception team to be picking up the award for all their hard work over the past year. It showed just how much they mean to the team and the salon and that they are a very important part of our business.
What has your win done for the business?
In all honesty, it has motivated the team and really encouraged them to push boundaries within the salon. It has also been a great talking point with our clients who are delighted to be part of this win - we have had so many great compliments. It was a good evening and the team had really lovely time.
