What do you love most about being a colourist?
I get such a buzz when I see a client's reaction. I love it when they love their colour, and love watching the bouncy walk they have when they leave the salon.
What do you think are the biggest challenges facing professional colourists in 2015?
Working over blue and green crazy colours are particularly challenging.
What do you think is the most exciting thing about being a colourist in 2015?
I love the fact that in London there are so many radically different styles which are trendy. From goth and punk to vintage to pastel or natural. It is a wonderful time for fashion.
What colour trend or technique are you most excited about for 2015?
I am excited by Jo Hansford new autumn/winter technique "beems" - it is so versatile , quick and for all-ages..
What one piece of advice would you give to trainee colourists who would love to be where you are now?
Don't rely on others to decide your formulas. Sometimes making a mistake and fixing it yourself teaches you valuable and memorable lessons.
