The Fellowship for British Hairdressing's Colour Project students recently spent the day with one half of HJ's Colour Technician of the Year duo,
Sharon Peake from Ethos.
It was the student's final workshop before the culmination of the year; a grand finale live on stage at
Salon International.
Sharon started the day by showcasing her Pulse collection - the shoot which won her and colleague Adam Bryant the title of Colour Technician of the Year. As well as revealing more about the techniques they used to achieve the looks, she also shared some of the inspirations behind the collection.
In the afternoon, students presented their own moodboards inspired by the concept of sound and soundscapes - the same starting point that Sharon had used for the collection.
"Seeing the student’s mood boards was great," said Sharon. "Getting an insight into how they undertook their research was very interesting and everyone has learnt something different from researching a topic that is completely outside the hairdressing environment."
The next stop on the Colour Project journey will be Salon International, which will see the students use the knowledge and skills they have gained to produce some incredible hair work. Student Bronte Wooding says: "Every month I have taken something valuable from each experience and I have learnt so much. It has also been great to work with so many different brands and learn how they work internally. It will be amazing to take all that I have learnt to Salon International."
