On the evening of Monday 14 October, Dionne Smith welcomed a host of VIP guests to the official launch of Coiffeur Group, the online exclusive hub for hairstylists and salon owners.

The glamorous launch event took place in the stylish Raddison Blu Edwardian hotel in Central London, where guests were treated to champagne on arrival, with wine and canapés served throughout the event. Dionne's introductory speech was received with a standing ovation, which encouraged several inspirational guests to take to the stage. Each speaker not only motivated the attendees, but also showcased the very best of Dionne’s elite connections, making a strong case to future and new members of the Coiffeur Group to join her inspirational network. The representatives from natural hair care brand Cantu inspired prospective guests to take part in The Curl Awards 2020. Gertrude Acheampong, from Black Women in business talked about the importance of a business strategy and recognising and supporting fellow black women in the industry. Leanne Pero of Black Women Rising, gave a moving speech about her personal battle with cancer, citing Coiffeur Group’s own Dionne Smith as one of the women who helped by providing wigs to her while she undergoes chemotherapy. Coiffuer Group is set to partner with Black Women Rising to provide quality wigs to women of colour while themselves undergoing chemotherapy. The innovative app Headlo was introduced on stage, which is seen as the first-of-its-kind hairstyling app is set to launch on Apple later this year. Tokunbo Chiedu Compass Consulting was also presented on stage, who flew in all the way from Nigeria to speak at the event and proved how much it helps having a successful brand consultant behind your business. The night was sponsored by start up brands from across the industry, including Crème of Nature, Headlines Beauty, Brush with The Best and many more.
