Circus fun at the fellowship president's night 09
Aprul 20 saw the crème de la crème of the hairdressing world gather at the luxurious Banqueting House in London for a Fellowship for British Hairdressing night of entertainment, good food, and stunning hair.
After a champagne reception, guests made their way into the banqueting hall which boasted sky high ceilings adorned with beautiful paintings and hanging chandeliers.
The theme of the night was Cirque de Coiffure and the show kicked off with a parade of models sporting circus inspired 'dos.
Admiral shaped hat hair, big bouffants, sequins, pom-poms, feathers, bondage basques and even a swishing tail.
The masters behind the creations then took to the stage with the presence of so many top names creating a real buzz.
The creative snippers were Richard Thompson, Mark Leeson, Errol Douglas, Terry Calvert, Beverly C, Richard Ward, Jonny Engstrom at Guy Kremer, Tim Hartley, Angelo Seminara, Sean Dawson for hob, Mark Hayes for Sassoon Academy, Nicky Clarke, Toni & Guy's Gary France and Fellowship President Steven Goldsworthy.
After a standing ovation, Steven Goldsworthy thanked everyone involved in the show and the event as a whole. He also welcomed Patron of Honour Ann Herman to the stage to thank her for her continued contribution.
Steven was delighted to invite Herbert Howe to address the audience after he was unable to accept his lifetime achievement award at the Fellowship Luncheon amd Awards at the end of 2008.
Herbert's colourful personality lit up the room. "50 years is an awful long time, and I'm still here!" he said.
And the show wasn't over, as Billy Smarts Circus entered the room to entertain guests with breathtaking displays before, during and after the meal.
The entertainment didn't distract from the menu which was a delicious mix of fancy fish n' chips, beef marinated in red wine, a dessert of Eton Mess, coffee and chocolates.
The show wound down with an after-drinks party which featured circus attraction favourites such as a coconut shy, hoopla, shooting gallery and ring the bell with the hammer.
Steven Goldsworthy pulled off a spectacular event with a beautiful location, the best names in the industry,money raised for HABB, a fantastic hair show, daring circus performers, great grub and some lucky individuals even won a fluffy toy on the hoopla! What more could you ask for?
"After months of hard work, the show was more exciting and fabulous than I could ever have wished for, I'm delighted with the results and glad that everyone enjoyed themselves," said Steven.
