Two of the UK’s hairdressing icons were awarded at this year’s CEW Achiever Awards at London’s Dorchester Hotel last week.
The awards honour individuals who have enjoyed a successful career in the beauty industry. Hairdressing legend
Sam McKnight was given the Special Industry Award for his outstanding contribution to the hair sector. He told HJ before going up on stage that he was thrilled to be a winner.

His career, which spans over four decades encompasses catwalks, editorial and advertising campaigns for fashion houses such as Chanel, Fendi, Balmain and Tom Ford.
Most recently, he was named a new contributor for British Vogue.
The 25th Anniversary Award was given posthumously to the UK’s much-loved hair doctor,
Philip Kingsley. He worked tirelessly into his eighties to revolutionise the hair care market and his legacy lives on through his award-winning product range.
