It's a new chapter for John Frieda Mayfair! As the iconic London salon celebrates its 50th anniversary, renowned colourist Cetera Lamb has been appointed Creative Director, marking an exciting milestone for both the salon and her 23-year career with the business.
Having developed her craft at John Frieda and established herself as one of London's most respected colour experts, Cetera is now set to bring her creative vision to the next chapter of the salon's story, combining its longstanding heritage with a fresh, fashion-led approach.
From Colourist to Creative Director: Cetera Lamb's Career at John Frieda
Cetera's journey with John Frieda began 23 years ago, where she honed her skills under the guidance of the salon's experienced team. Early in her career, she assisted renowned colourist Nicola Clarke, developing her dedication to precision and excellence.
Over the years, Cetera has built a loyal clientele and established a reputation for her precision, transformative colour work and ability to create everything from bold, experimental looks to beautifully refined, wearable colour.
With hairdressing in her blood – her mother is also a hairdresser – Cetera's passion for creativity extends well beyond the salon floor. Alongside her work at John Frieda, she is also Creative Director of her own magazine, exploring the relationship between fashion, identity and self-expression.
John Frieda Celebrates 50 Years with a New Creative Vision
As John Frieda Mayfair marks five decades in the industry, Cetera's appointment signals an exciting new era for the salon, one that celebrates its heritage while embracing a modern approach to hairdressing.
Speaking about the appointment, John Frieda says:
"Cetera is a rare talent, and I am delighted that the torch is being handed to someone who has cut her teeth at the salon. John Frieda Mayfair has been quietly working for its exceptional client base for decades. I believe we are trusted for our consistency, our artistry and our dedication to excellence in everything we do. Cetera will no doubt take the salon forward to its next decades of passion and focus in delivering the very best in hairdressing. I am excited to see Cetera's vision come to life."
For Cetera, the new role is about balancing the salon's established reputation with creativity, individuality and a forward-thinking vision.
"My vision is to respect and protect the legacy of the John Frieda Salon while pushing it forward in a modern, fashion-relevant way. I want the salon to be a space where craftsmanship, art and creativity coexist – where clients feel their most comfortable, where hair feels current, effortless and above all, personal. It's about nurturing talent, encouraging individuality and creating an experience that feels luxurious, but never intimidating."
Cetera will continue to be supported by Salon Manager Dany LeBeau and hair health specialist and Creative Consultant Zoe Irwin as she steps into her new position.
