Following a successful preview exhibition, the HARE Styling initiative came to a conclusion with the glittering Hare Ball, held at the Dorchester Park Lane.

Organised as part of the HAIRraising Appeal, the project saw celebrities and hairdressers alike customise images of hares which were then auctioned off for charity at the star-studded event.

Over 350 VIP guests including Vidal Sassoon, Stella McCartney and event organiser Michael Van Clarke rubbed shoulders at the glamorous ball, which raised over £130,000 on the night.

The highest bid of the night was £32,000, for a graffiti-inspired piece by urban artist Mr Brainwash, while Stella McCartney's beautiful work reached a bid of £15,000 - a sum which doubled when the designer agreed to create a second piece.

The night was topped off with lively performances from Rebecca Ferguson, Sunday Girl and Rick Parfitt Junior.

Commenting on success of the HARE Ball, Michael says: "It was most definitely a magical evening and I would like to thank all the great performers, guests and the generous bidders who made it that extra bit special".

"The pioneering work carried out at Great Ormond Street Hospital provides hope to extremely sick children and their families. My family knows first-hand the incredible difference the hospital can make and I am always looking for ways to show my gratitude."

A further 205 canvases are currently being auctioned online at www.harestyling.com, with bidding set to end next week.
