Louis Vuitton's summer show took inspiration from art deco designs of the 1920s, with a camp 70s disco twist.
Hair at the show struck a balance between the two eras, combining the slick, androgynous finish of 20s flapper styles, with the sexy, curving shapes of the 1970s.

We spoke to Kristina Buivydaite of Trevor Sorbie to find out more about recreating this beautiful catwalk look.
"This look works on wet or dry hair, and is relatively easy to achieve. First you will need to blow-dry the front section of the hair forward to create the sweeping fringe more easily. Smooth through, creating a bend on the ends. This can also be achieved by using heated Velcro rollers which may be easier."
"Then create an off-centre or side parting and backcomb the ends of the hair slightly. Start shaping the hair into a roll or chignon shape on the side, securing with pins and grips. Use volume spray, hairspray or sea salt spray for extra grip."
"If you would like to create a more summery look, create a side or middle parting and start twisting the hair from the sides, down to the middle of the nape of the neck. Do this on both sides, so that the hair meets in the middle. Keep the roll of hair you are twisting low on the hair line, and secure the hair with pins and grips."
The glamorous style has already become a hot favourite with celebrities, and can either be worn alone or incorporated as a feature in to any number of other styles.

It's no surprise that fashionista Gwen Stefani has tried this catwalk trend. Although her signature blonde locks are usually styled in 50s pin-up girl styles, this look works equally well, and shows off the darker panels in her hair.
Actress Freida Pinto has also tackled the twist, incorporating the front section of her casual style into a rolled shape, adding a fashionable edge and a hint of volume to this otherwise effortless look.

The versatile style also works well when incorporated in to more dressy red carpet styles, as demonstrated by Lauren Conrad and Kimberley Walsh.
Lauren's elegant side bun gets an extra dimension with the addition of face-framing twisted sections, which are delicately pinned around the base of the bun for a chic finish.
Girls Aloud star Kimberley takes the look further, transforming the twist in to a roll, pinned towards the back of her head. The flattering asymmetric styles offers a modern take on a retro favourite.

US presenter Maria Menounos and actress Kate Bosworth both look fresh from the Louis Vuitton catwalk with their accurate interpretations of this gamine trend.
Although the look is a catwalk hit for summer 2010, the twisted style is nothing new. In fact, as these two 1970s images from HJi's gallery prove, Louis Vuitton's retro vision is fairly accurate! These looks are around 30 years old, but feel as fresh today as when they were taken.
