Business brains out in force at wella business network

It's often said that a successful salon needs a creative and a business brain behind it. At the Wella Business Network event on Monday and Tuesday of this week, the business brains were out in force, enjoying an eclectic mix of inspirational speakers and interactive seminars. wellabn4.jpg Getting to know you! (There's a knack to this networking, you know)I had thought I'd be an impartial by-stander for the workshops, but ended up taking part with real gusto! Networking expert, Judith Gilmore ensured delegates made the most of the two-day event, with a workshop that aimed to make networking an enjoyable experience. Delegates were trained in how to approach strangers at networking events, how to become involved in a group chat and how to make an exit from a conversation that has run its course! Speakers at the event included Alastair Campbell, who gave a candid account of his time as Tony Blair's spin doctor; Casper Berry, a one-time professional poker player, who spoke about the importance of taking risks, and the directors of hob, who shared their vast combined experience with the capacity audience. Probably the most nerve-wracking part of the two days for me was having to pass an inflatable banana to another delegate using just my knees. Still working out how to put this in to practice within the work place. Matthew HJi zzwella.jpg
