British hairdressing business awards 2008 winners

Once again British hairdressing has shown that it is second to none when it comes to glitz and glamour at the British Hairdressing Business Awards 2008.

Set in the swanky surroundings of the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the industry's leading lights, as well as up and coming talents and representatives from many hair industry manufacturers gathered to celebrate haidressing's brilliant business minds.

And while British Hairdressing is most celebrated for it's creativity and boundary pushing, the evening recognises that talent and flair can only prosper with the backing of dedication, movivation and great business acumen.

Introducing the Awards, now in their 10th year, Jayne Lewis-Orr, publisher/editor-in-chief of HJ said: "We had a record number of entries and they were of an exceptional standard. All of the finalists should be really proud of themselves."

Jayne was joined on stage by Watchdog presenter Nicky Campbell, who praised British Hairdressing for "providing for customers and giving a superb service to customers."

He added: "These awards are for people who have shown a positive approach to business success, innovation, achievement and business acumen.

Andrew Phouli of Rush London walked away with the biggest award of the night for Business Director of the year, while the other British Hairdressing Business Awards 2008 winners were:

While the winners were delighted to receive their awards the night was a triumph for British Hairdressing Business as a whole, as each winner praised their fellow finalists.

Nicky Campbell added: "I have never been to an awards ceremony where everyone is so respectful to their competitors."
