British barbers association student barber of the year

Published 18th May 2012

A big congratulations to all the finalists in this year's British Barbers Association Student Barber of the Year competition. This is the second year I've been asked to judge, and the standard of the winning entries has definitely taken a step up.

Once again the final was held at the Barbers Surgeons' Hall in the heart of the City of London - a building that dates back to the days when barbers would carry out minor surgery as part of the services they offered the public.

Winners on the day are unlikely to try and go down the surgery route, although their barbering skills are undisputed. Awards were presented in three categories - Fashion Trends, which went to Stacey Oliver; Styling Award, which went to Kelly Lenehan and Classic Barbering Award, which was presented to James Tysall.

The biggest award of the day, Student Barber of the Year, went to a very happy Stacey Oliver.

Well done Stacey - here's to a long and successful career.
