Britain's best shave entries open for 2020

Britain’s Best Shave is back for a sixth year and the search to crown the 2020 champion at HJ Live London in March 2020 has begun.
Since its inception in 2013, the iconic British Barbering Association's (BBA) Britain’s Best Shave competition, sponsored by The Bluebeards Revenge, has become an industry-leading event. It invites barbers to demonstrate their skills with a cut-throat razor and rise to the top of the barbering trade.
Barbers currently practicing their trade in Britain are encouraged to enter the heats by visiting the link here.
The epic contest begins with a national qualification round, where shortlisted barbers will compete against each other in October and November.
These highly competitive heats will be judged by an expert panel of award-winning barbers who have mastered the art of shaving themselves. Barbers will be scored on their shave preparation, razor technique, post-shave routine, health and safety and overall efficiency.
The top seven scoring barbers, along with last year’s champion Enver Yeshilbulut, will progress to the national final at HJ Live London, which is due to take place on 29 March 2020 at the ExCeL London. Here, the finalists will battle it out inside the competition’s iconic BBA Boxing Ring for the coveted title of Britain’s Best Wet Shaving Barber for 2020.
The winner of the national final will also receive an incredible prize of £250 worth (at retail) of barber-grade products from The Bluebeards Revenge.
Trevor Studd, director of the British Barbers’ Association, suggested that the ever-flourishing trend for men’s grooming was showing no signs of slowing down.
He said: “Men are looking after themselves a lot more and have finally realised that the barber or a dedicated male grooming operation is the best place to go to get a decent haircut. There is also rising demand for hot towel shaves and beard trims, and barbers have fully tapped into offering these types of services.”
