The winners of the 2006 British Hairdressing Awards are each proving their worth as they continue to promote the professional hairdressing industry in a positive and professional light. But what more could we all be doing to attract the right people into this industry?I would happily encourage my own children to become hairdressers as I can see the scope and potential available to those that work hard, are committed and really want to succeed. Hairdressing needs intelligent, creative people who are prepared to work hard and follow their dream and it is that message that we all need to be promoting to just about anyone who will listen. But how do we do that? Some potential ways could be careers fairs, the media in all its guises and through clients in your salon - if they enjoy their visit, and can see the staff are motivated, talented and inspired - why wouldn't they talk to their friends and family about hairdressing as a career.
