For anyone that didn't catch the BBC4 documentary last night Timeshift: Bouffants, Beehives and Bobs, The Hairstyles That Shaped Britain, check it out here.
It was fascinating viewing on everything from the Dusty Springfield-inspired beehive to the geometric bob and the quiff, looking at the influences fashion and music had on hair.
Experts included Rose Evansky, who was credited with changing the way hair was blow-dried, to Mark Hayes, who talked about the intricacies of the five point cut.
Narrated by Wayne Hemingway, it started with a peak into the world of the first flamboyant celebrity hairdresser Mr Teasy Weasy, moving on to the work of Leonard Lewis and Vidal Sassoon in the 1960s and the influence of music and fashion in the 1970s.
