Barrie stephen welcomes industry experts for inspiration day

Salon owner Barrie Stephen galvanised his team with a line up of speakers for an in salon inspiration day. Speakers included including Gianni Scumaci, Sally Brooks and Debbie Digby-Smith. The day was held at Leicester's New Walk Museum. Barrie's goal for the day was to show his team the endless career possibilities in the hairdressing industry. The day began with an introduction from Barrie who demonstrated how his own hard work and resilience helped him to get where he is today. He reminded his team that they are custodians of the Barrie Stephen brand, and with passion and determination they can achieve great things in their own careers. Gianni Scumaci then talked to the stylists about his journey to become an internationally recognised name in the hairdressing and fashion world. “If I can do it, anyone can,” he said, reminding Barrie’s team of the significant social function of the hairdresser and how their talent can inspire trends and change perceptions. Next up, Debbie Digby-Smith, CEO at Passion4Hair spoke about how young stylists can elevate their career with the right mindset and a deep desire to keep learning. Sally Brooks, 2019 Fellowship for British Hairdressing Hairdresser of the Year, rounded off the day showing Barrie’s team how to keep striving for creative greatness in their everyday - creating their own fingerprint and using their developing talent to enhance the client experience. Barrie said: “Our team events are usually centred around celebrating our salons’ success, and recognising individuals for their contribution, but this year I wanted to something slightly different. He continued: “I don’t believe you can ever rest on your laurels in this business. Change is inevitable and I want my team to be motivated and prepared to strive for excellence as the hair and fashion industry evolves. United we can achieve both personal and collective success.
