With more technical hitches than your average Zoom meeting this year's virtual
Golden Globes didn't run as smoothly as planned. However, thankfully the hair was on point.
Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler the night (Sunday 28 February) featured muted mics, musical interruptions and no shows but was totally rescued by some fabulous gowns and hairstyles.
Here's team HJ's favourite looks from the night.
Andra Day's halo of curls
It was a huge night for Andra Day, who was named Best Actress – Motion Picture, Drama for her performance as Billie Holiday in The United States Vs Billie Holiday. Her halo of curls beautifully set off her Chanel gown and combined with a slicked back roots, Andra's updo gets top marks for the combination of textures and the sophisticated drama of her look.

Jane's Fonda's ultra chic grey bob
The film legend and activist Jane Fonda was the
Recipient of the Cecil B. deMille Award at this year's Golden Globes and gave a phenomenal virtual speech. Elegant and sophisticated, her hair screamed ultra Hollywood glam with a bouncy bob that complemented her on-trend grey tresses beautifully. Pantone's Color of the Year 2021 is Ultimate Gray and this silver siren is showing us all exactly how to do it. This image will be the perfect reference point for any clients wishing to embrace their greys when returning to your hair salon with a few highlights thrown in for good measure.

Anya Taylor-Joy's seriously long platinum lengths

For her win in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology or TV movie category, Anna Taylor-Joy traded in her signature
Queen's Gambit redhead bob for tumbling platinum lengths for the awards. Hairstylist Gregory Russell created Anna's glamorous lengths with a sophisticated side parting and understated curled ends, which perfectly complemented her mermaid green Dior gown. You can be sure that clients will be keen to replicate the look, with
extensions being big news for SS21.
