Avoiding hat hair is impossible

The Winter has officially arrived and according to sources we're set for a miserable couple of months. Along with a host of celebrities, I've started donning my woolly hat and Trilby - but how do you avoid hat hair! Flat roots and frizzy ends is never a good look at the best of times - but hairdresser Mark Leeson says avoiding hat hair is impossible.

"The best thing to do is to be fully prepared and make sure you have a secret supply of mini styling products to help!" he advises.

Here's his tips:

1 A little mirror and hairspray in your handbag is a must for quick touch-ups.

2 Embrace the messy look and let your hair work with its natural movement and texture rather than trying to fight it.

3 If your hair is long enough to tie back, make sure you always have a clip or band to do a quick transformation.

4 If you have a fringe work with the style of the hat and pull your fringe out so it skims your eyes giving a sexy eye skimming look.
