Autumn trends for afro hair

Afro hair will comprise a variety of styles and shades this season, with texture, curls and concave bobs all featuring. Here, top Afro specialists give their trend predictions. "Afro hair this autumn/winter will be really exciting. Dynamic cuts with a hint of catwalk wave will dominate this year. For cuts, look out for fringes, especially blunt ones. Asymmetrical shapes will make a big comeback too, while colourists should look at warm, plum shades" Errol Douglas, Errol Douglas, London Rihanna-Afro.jpg"Autumn will continue to see lots of defined and individualistic shapes, as worn by the beautiful singing sensation Rihanna, and kick-started by Victoria Beckham's dramatic haircut earlier in 2007. Sexy concave bobs with lots of texture, characterised by razor-cutting techniques, will be the ones to watch for this autumn." Harriet Kessie, Harriet Kessie salon, London "Lighter hues are on the autumn menu, with natural browns and beiges shining through. Stealing inspiration from Mary J Blige and Beyoncé, these sandy, sahara shades are the glamorous option that will make your clients look like international superstars. Asymmetric cuts, such as Kelis', have been big, with isolated areas of hair used as a focal point. Texture, like crimping and waves, has also filtered down from the catwalks to put an end to the poker-straight look." Michelle Louise Sultan, senior stylist from Hype Coiffure, London "Classic chic styles are trendy at the moment. Soft looks with lots of movement and gorgeous waves are going to be particularly popular this season. Alternatively, neat structured bobs with clean lines will also appear - revitalising and tidying up the sun-scorched locks left over from the summer" Renda Attia at Steven Carey Hair, London
