In the 14 years since HJ launched the British Hairdressing Business Awards, the industry has gone through huge amounts of change and the economy in which we are operating is unrecognisable. From the boom through to the crash, hairdressing salons have continued to offer phenomenal levels of service, innovative treatments and techniques with style, care and the utmost concern for the client.

Much work has gone into every aspect of the customer journey and marketing strategies have been adapted to suit the digital age we now live in; and from a team perspective, training programmes and career plans are now commonplace in salons up and down the country. From the business skills required to the individuals who make a salon team great, the British Hairdressing Business Awards are run to reward and recognise the talent working in this industry. New for 2013 is the Salon Stylist award which will reward those individuals who impact and influence the team in which they work by their everyday actions - offering mentoring and training to more junior team members,  setting the example  to be followed when it comes to retail sales and client retention and running a successful, busy column.
